| This program is to provide public access to fuelwood on Crown lands in a manner consistent with the management of the forest for other timber products and uses. | |

| Facts - All permits expire March 31. - Anyone wishing to buy firewood on a delivered basis must contact a contractor. - A list is available from your local Natural Resources office. - The permit holder must ensure all conditions are met. - Harvesting is carried out at the sole risk of the permit holder. - Wood is subject to availability 1. ROADSIDE CLEAN-UP- Permits may be issued to individuals to obtain fuelwood from roadside logging slash. (tops, broken pieces, undersized trees etc.) left over from harvesting operations. Volume limits may apply. The permit holder must be on site when harvesting occurs. How to apply Contact us for: • Locator map • Permit 2. FUELWOOD CLEAN-UP - Permits may be issued to individuals to harvest fuelwood material in low volume areas. The Department will designate areas where fuelwood material is available and permit access by the general public to remove this material. Each household is limited to 14 cubic metres (approximately seven cords) each year. The permit is issued to the householder. He or she must be on site when harvesting occurs – and is responsible for the harvest and removal of wood. Wood is provided on an "as is, where is" basis. Contact us for: • Locator map • Permit 3. FUELWOOD CONTRACTORS - Permits may be issued to contractors to cut fuelwood for resale. The Department will select areas where private contractors can harvest this wood. Standing wood on these areas will be sold by tender or public auction. The successful bidder will be issued a permit and will be responsible for: - Accessing - Harvesting - Selling - Delivery The market price will be set by the contractor. How to apply Selected areas will be advertised for tender in your local newspaper. 4. FUELWOOD STANDS - Permits may be issued to individuals to harvest within designated fuelwood stands. Each household is limited to 14 cubic metres (approximately seven cords) each year. The permit is issued to the householder. He or she must be on site when harvesting occurs – and is responsible for the harvest and removal of wood. Wood is provided on an "as is, where is" basis.
