The Community Volunteer Action (CVA) program is defined as a program designed to assist community non-profit agencies in providing citizens with basic needs as related to their emergency situations. Basic needs are defined as clothing, furniture, food and meals.

| Eligibility: |
Grants may be given to non-profit community volunteer agencies that provide services to needy people in the community. These agencies must be operating in the Province of New Brunswick and be incorporated as a non-profit organization.
Services provided by the agency must be aimed at alleviating the effects of poverty on individuals and families whose income is not sufficient to meet their needs. Services including providing food, meals, clothing and furniture.

The purpose of the CVA Program is to work in partnership with community non-profit agencies by providing financial support to reinforce community response to the basic needs of low-income people in the community, and to facilitate implementation of initiatives, which complement/supplement existing services within the community. Basic needs are defined as food, meals, clothing and furniture.
Applications are available at your local office of Social Development.
